Deungdutjai

Title: ในวันที่ความเศร้าพาเรามาทะเล / Nai Wun Tee Kwahm Sao Pah Rao Mah Talay (The Day Sadness Led Me to the Sea)
English Title: “S.O.S”
Artist: Playground ft. Tul Apartment Khunpa (ตุล อพาร์ตเมนต์คุณป้า)
Album: [Single]
Year: 2018

Pah duang jai tee baup chum mah tee talay
I lead my bruised heart to the sea
Mur maung bpai bon haht sai gor maung hen bahng sing
Staring at the sand, I see something

Took krao tee kleun sut mah roy bon sai yung hai bpai
Every time a wave rolls in, the marks int he sand disappear
Laeo raung roy nai hua jai kaunc hun dtaung tum chen rai
So what should I do about the marks in my heart?

Baek kwahm lung tee pit wung mah ting talay
I carry the disappointing past to leave at the sea
Dtae kwahm lung yung kong sut mah tee hua jai
But the past still rolls back over my heart

(*)

Yahk ja naun lup dtah tee rim haht sai bploy hai kleun mun sut jai chun tee salai
I want to sleep on the beach and let the waves roll over my broken heart
Peua raung roy tee kao tum rai mun ja hai bpai
So the marks from her hurting me will disappear

Dtae gor roo wah chun tum dai kae kit pror kwahm jing chun kong leum mai dai
But I know that all I can do is think, because the truth is I can’t forget
Pror kwahm song jum kaung chun nun mun dtahng jahk peun sai
Because my memories are different from the sand

Chun ja kian cheu tur long bon haht sai
I’ll write her name on the sand
Laeo bploy hai num talay tah tohm jon leuan hai
And let the sea water rush over it until it fades away
Ngaen keun maung saeng jun peua wung ja paun klai
I look up at the light of the moon and hope it will relax me
Hai leum keun leum wun tee mee dtae fun salai
And get me to forget the days and nights of only broken dreams
Bploy hai lom bploy hai fah bplaup bpralohm dtua eng
Letting the wind and sky soothe me
Neuk arai mai auk gor kae bauk mah bpen pleng
Not thinking of anything, just reciting a song
Bunyagaht nai keun nee kong mai chuay yiao yah
The atmosphere tonight isn’t helping comfort me
Kwahm roo seuk took guk kung wai klai gup sai nai nahligah
My feelings have imprisoned me, like sand in an hourglass

(**,***)

Pror reuang kaung tur lae chun mun mai chai reuang kaung peun sai
Because the matters of you and me aren’t the matters of the sand

I love these melancholy lyrics a lot~ But I’m a sucker for creative similes/metaphors
