Title: รถคันเก่า / Rot Kun Gao (Old Car)
Artist: Atom Chanagun (ชนกันต์)
Album: [Single]
Year: 2018

Brake seuam kwun dum fai tai mai dee rot chun mun gao
The brakes are deteriorating, the smoke is black, my tail lights are bad, my car is old
Kaht gahn saum saem mai dtahng arai jahk ruk rao
It’s in need of repairs, no different from our love

Payayahm bprup bproong gae kai took yahng
I tried to improve and fix everything
Bplian bplaeng hai tur took jai
Changing to satisfy you
Dtae wun nee kae kao mah gup rot kun mai
But today, he just showed up with a new car
Tur gor leuak bpai gupkao
And you chose to go with him

Tur bauk wah tur ja bpai tur ja bpai gup kao
You told me that you’d go, you’d go with him
Tur bauk hai chun glup bpai praum gup rot kun gao
You told me to go back with my old car
Tur bauk wah chun dtaung mee chun dtaung mee yahng kao
You told me that I need, I need what he has
Tur bauk mai ngun ja leum tur ja leum reuang rao
You told me if not, you’d forget, you’d forget about us
Kae rot kao mun mai
Just over his new car

Mai aht tum jai ting mun dai long teung mun ja gao
I can’t bring myself to dump it, even though it’s old
Dtit piang reuang diao dtae gaun mun koey bpen rot rao
I’m hung up on one issue; before that, it was once our car

(*,**)

Kun nee mai chai ror tee pah tur bpai song
Wasn’t this car what took you places?
Kun nee mai chai ror tee pah tur pahn sook took took tahng
Wasn’t this car what took you through both the good times and the bad?
Kun nee mai chai ror tee tum peua tur mah took yahng
Didn’t this car do everything for you?
Soot tai mai piang por kon yahng chun
In the end, a guy like me isn’t enough

(**,**)

Bauk wah tur ja bpai
You told me you were going
Bauk wah tur ja bpai
Told me you were going
Gor tur ja bpai
And you’ll go

I like this, not only does it have Atom’s signature sound to it, but I like the unique lyrics, comparing their relationship to an old car.
It also reminds me of my drawing laptop, which I’ve had since 2006. My husband wants me to get rid of it and get a newer, better one soooo badly, but we’ve been through so much together, so many memories, I can’t bring myself to dump it xD At least he’s not giving me an ultimatum, yet hahaha
