Title: ฉันจะเป็นความรักเสมอ / Chun Ja Bpen Kwahm Ruk Samur (I’ll Always Be Love)
English Title: “Love Speaks”
Artist: Stamp
Album: [Single]
Year: 2016

Chun kit wah chun nun keu kwahm ruk
I think I’m love
Tur saung kon chaup riak cheu chun wah yahng nun
The two of you liked calling out my name like that
Chun mee cheewit keun jahk kwahm fun
I came to life from a dream
Meua krung gaun dtaun tur tung saung dai glai chit gun
From before when the two of you were close

Dtae mai nahn gor mai mee krai riak chun cheu nun eek dtor bpai
But pretty soon, no one is calling my name anymore
Tur yaek tahng neung kon riak chun wah kwahm took
You split up, one of you calls me suffering
Eek kon riak chun wah kwahm sia jai dtae
The other calls me sadness, but

chun kit wah chun ja bpen kwahm ruk dtor bpai
I think I’ll continue being love
Mai wah tur saung kon ja riak chun wah arai
No matter what the two of you call me
Pror chun yung chaup bunyahgaht nun
Because I still like that atmosphere
Tee tur yoo duay gun glai glai
Of when you two were close
Mee chun cheuam dtrong glahng ao wai
And had me joining you right in the middle

Teung mae wun nee mee dtae groht kaen gliet chung
Even though today there’s only anger and hatred
Dtae tung mot nun mai chai dtua chun dtae yahng dai
None of that is me at all
Tee maung mai hen chun nai dtaun nee
You don’t see me right now
Pror puak tur pasom ahrom tee mee mahk bpai
Because you both have mixed the emotions you have too much
Dtae bplian chun mai dai
But I can’t be changed
Chun ja bpen kwahm ruk samur
I’ll always be love

Pror tur tung saung gumlung baup chum
Because both of you are hurting
Krai suk kon jeung dtaung took hah wah bpen poo rai
One person must be blamed
Dtae cheua tur chun keu kon soot tai
But trust me, I’m the last person
Tee dtaung gahn hai krai tung nun dtaung mee num dtah
Who wants anyone to cry

Kae hun mah chun gor yung meuan derm yoo dtrong nee
Just turn, I’m still here in the same place
Lae praum tee ja kiang kahng ugn meuan wun gao
Ready to be beside you like the old days
Mae reuang rao bplian bplaeng long kae nai
No matter how much things have changed

I wasn’t expecting any less than such a gorgeous, uniquely-worded, meaningful song from Stamp. Rather than explain the song from the point of view of two people getting back together or falling in love, he decides to tell it from the point of view of love itself, reminding us that love is always love, its meaning doesn’t change, it’s people who are trying to change their own perception of it. Love isn’t suffering, it isn’t pain, it isn’t sadness. Love is love, it’s always love, and all that other stuff comes from people doing other things.
To do the song justice, I’m glad it was partnered with a beautiful music video, guaranteed to leave you in tears; the girl was so close to getting an abortion after her boyfriend left her when he found out she was pregnant, but she looked past the anger and sadness she felt towards him and felt the love for her child and decided to keep her. Later, you also find out the guy and girl get back together, and the child is happy to experience the love from both parents, as well as the love they still have for each other. So touching all around~
