Youtube cover duo A-Poy get to debut a single of their own~ I really like the singer’s voice and vocal range, I like the easy-listening sound of it, and I like that the lyrics are cute and unique and not the usual blither you hear. I think this is a strong debut for them, and I look forward to a music video~

Edit: Now the music video is out! And…I’m a little disappointed. I liked the song so much, I was expecting better. What was this, a commercial for this automatic translator app? I’m so sick of these idealist music videos telling stories of how love romance unfolds between two people who don’t speak a word of the same language all thanks to these machine translators that just never work in real life. How about instead we have a more realistic story, where this guy’s trying to communicate using such a translator app, but there’s always some sort of translation error that leads to wacky misunderstandings (or maybe serious ones)? Or maybe one where the guy is constantly bugging his friend at all hours to help translate for him to get in this girl’s pants (now THERE’S something I could relate to)? I feel like I would watch that. But this? Yawn.

Also, who the heck goes up to a random person in a country you’re visiting and asks them an awkward stereotype like “Why do Japanese people like to kill themselves?” First of all, for a random foreigner to come up to me and start dragging me after him telling me to take him to the biggest tourist area in the city that he inexplicably can’t find himself, that would be dubious to me enough as it is, but for me to take him there and for him to then say, “Wow, Tokyo Tower’s so pretty…Hey, why do Japanese people like to kill themselves?” WHAT THE HECK. I feel like I would get pissed off and just leave, or shoot back with a question about a negative stereotype about whatever culture he’s from.

Hooray, I guess, him and his translator app saved the girl from committing suicide….But. I don’t think I want to sit through this video again lmao. I’ll stick to audio-only 🙂
