Title: สิ่งแทนใจ / Sing Taen Jai (Substitute for the Heart)
Artist: Retrospect
Album: [Single]
Year: 2016

Kaung kaung tur tee gep wai bahng ahrom yahk tum lai
Your things that I’ve kept, some feelings want to destroy them
Bahng ahrom gor yung sai dai ying maung glup bpai yaun nai wun wahn
Some feelings are still regretful, the more I look back on yesterday
Ruk gun taep dtai wahng hon tahng wai glai saen glai
I loved you to death, placed on a road stretching on so far
Joong meu gun hahk dern mai wai mai mee kwahm mai meua pob wah mun mai jing
We held hands if we couldn’t walk, but it’s meaningless when I found out that it’s not real
Suan chun mai dai dtriam jai
As for me, I wasn’t prepared
Tur dai bproht fung wai nai wun soot tai tee rao job gun
Please listen to me on this final day that we’re breaking up

Reuang rao kaung rao pao mun ting bpai reu mae arai tee bpen dung sing taen jai
I’ll burn our memories, even the things that are like a substitute for the heart
Ja ting mun bpai hai glai hai maung mai hen
I’ll throw them far away so I can’t see them
Dtae reuang kaung hua jai reuang jahk kahng nai hai lop yung ngai mai mee tahng ja leuan bpai
But the matters of the heart, the things from inside, however I erase them, there’s no way for them to fade
Jahk nee jon dtai ja leum mun dai suk gee wun
From now until I die, how many days until I’ll be able to forget?

The sound of the final message you left me before leaving
Bauk wah tur chahng neuay hua jai toy kum long tai keu rao lerk gun
Told me that you were so tired of it all, your last words were that we were breaking up
Lop reuang rao un sot sai pahp kaung rao tee yeun kiang gai
Erase the bright memories, the images of us standing beside each other
Took toy kum got leum mun bpai mai mee kwahm mai pror pob wah
I delete every word, it’s meaningless because I’ve found that
Mun mai jing suan chun mai dai dtriam jai
It wasn’t real, as for me, I wasn’t prepared
Tur dai bproht fung wai nai wun soot tai tee rao job gun
Please listen to me on this final day that we’re breaking up

Reuang rao kaung rao pao mun ting bpai plae nai hua jai mun jep gern ton
Burn our memories, the wounds in my heart hurt too much to bear
Reuang rao kaung rao pao mun ting bpai plae nai hua jai mun jep gern ton
Burn our memories, the wounds in my heart hurt too much to bear
Reuang rao kaung rao pao mun ting bpai pror wah hua jai mun jep gern ton
Burn our memories, because my heart hurts too much to bear
Reuang rao kaung rao pao mun ting bpai pao mun ting bpai
Burn our memories, burn them
Pao mun ting bpai pao mun ting bpai (sia jai sia jai sia jai)
Burn them, burn them (I’m sad, I’m sad, I’m sad)
Pao mun ting bpai pao mun ting bpai
Burn them, burn them
Auk bpai auk bpai auk bpai jahk hua jai chun
Out, out, out from my heart

I want to like this song, really I do, but for some reason, something’s just lacking for me. As bitter as the lyrics are, the song just doesn’t seem bitter enough to me. Perhaps because Nap’s voice didn’t really portray that angry, betrayed, frustrated emotion very well until the last chorus. The music video was visually interesting, though~
