Title: น้ำท่วมปาก / Num Tuam Bpahk (Biting My Tongue)
Artist: Justin (จัสติน)
Album: [Single]
Year: 2016
อยากดึงมือ มือของเธอ เข้ามาหาและกอดเธอไว้
Yahk deung meu meu kaung tur kao mah hah lae gaut tur wai
I want to pull, pull your hand to come to me and hug you
แต่รู้ดี ว่ามันสายจนเกินไป
Dtae roo dee wah mun sai jon gert bpai
But I know full well that it’s far too late
ผิดที่ฉัน ฉันพลาดเอง จนต้องเสียเธอให้กับเขา
Pit tee chun chun plaht eng jon dtaung sia tur hai gup kao
It’s my fault, I screwed things up until I lost you to him
คำว่ารัก บอกวันนี้ช้าเกินไป
Kum wah ruk bauk wun nee chah gern bpai
Telling you I love you today is too slow
(*) เสียใจเท่าไหร่ คิดถึงเท่าไหร่
Sia jai tao rai kit teung tao rai
However sorry I am, however much I miss you
(**) ได้แต่น้ำท่วมปาก และน้ำตาท่วมใจ
Dai dtae num tuam bpahk lae num dtah tuam jai
I can only bite my tongue and let tears flood my heart
หมดสิทธิ์แล้ว ที่จะพูดคำไหน
Mot sing laeo tee ja poot kum nai
I lost the right to say anything
ที่ ที่ฉันเคยอยู่ มีเขามายืนแทน
Tee tee chun koey yoo mee kao mah yeun taen
The place where I once was has him standing there instead
ไม่มีหวัง พูดคำในหัวใจ ว่ามันยังรักเธอ
Mai mee wung poot kum nai hua jai wah mun yung ruk tur
I don’t have any hope to speak the words in my heart that I still love you
อยากจะทำ อยากชดเชย สิ่งที่ฉันเคยผิดเคยพลั้ง
Yahk ja tum yahk chot choey sing tee chun koey koey palung
I want to fix things, I want to compensate for the things that I once screwed up or did mistakenly
มีถ้อยคำ อยากจะขอเธอคืนมา
Mee toy kum yahk ja kor tur keun mah
I have a confession; I want to ask you to come back
แต่สุดท้าย คำทุกคำ ฉันต้องฝืนกลืนเก็บมันไว้
Dtae soot tai kum took kum chun dtaung feun gleun gep mun wai
But in the end, I must force myself to swallow every word
คำว่ารัก บอกวันนี้ช้าเกินไป
Kum wah ruk bauk wun nee chah gern bpai
Telling you I love you today is too slow
(*,**,**)
NOTE: The idiom น้ำท่วมปาก / Num Tuam Bpahk literally translates to “Water will flood my mouth,” and alludes to a situation where it’s better for you to keep your mouth closed and not speak, like if you were underwater where water would drown you if you opened your mouth. I think the closest comparable English idioms would be “biting my tongue” or “keeping my mouth shut”~
I really like this guy’s voice, and he’s nice to look at too. How about giving him more than just one single a year, eh, Grammy?
