I don’t mean to swear on my site, but what the f**k is this? Am I misunderstanding the Chinese loan words in this or is this seriously the song?
I was actually excited from the teasers, imagining them to be a modern country version of the China Dolls (as everyone has been calling them), but not even China Doll’s Japanese-obsessed song “ตี๋ซัง / Dtee Sung (I Hate Chinese Boys)” comes close to this level of awkward self-hating and fetishizing another culture. Noooo, Grammy. Nooooooo. Don’t do this.

It also bothers me that the “Aiyaiyai wo ai ni” parts sound so much like SMiLE.dk’s song “Butterfly” (Ironically another song that fetishizes Japanese boys). Makes me want to find a Para Para Paradise cage haha (do those things still exist??)
