Yellow Fang are known for having an amazing sound, while Apartment Khunpa are known for their unique, metaphorical lyrics that make you think, so to have these two collab together, I knew they wouldn’t disappoint~ The sound is so haunting and bitter, it fits the lyrics perfectly, about sensing your relationship is coming to an end and getting a feeling that things are going to go south very quickly. The music video also perfectly complements it in an artistic way; two girls go to a tattoo parlor for one to get a simple, matching tattoo to show their friendship/relationship, but then the tattoo artist comes out and starts talking about all the different tattoos he can do all over her body, and she goes into the room leaving the sketch of the tattoo behind with her friend (lover?) who’s waiting anxiously, feeling like something’s not right. The sexuality in the tattoo scenes, with the girl slowly pulling her shirt up, the way she’s writhing on her stomach, curling her toes, and gritting her teeth as he’s tattooing her back, and the way the ink splatters and drips down her skin, gives the illusion of physically cheating without being literal or direct. The final scenes, with the girl coming out of the room and being unable to look her friend in the eye, who stares at her with a hurt expression seeing she didn’t get the tattoo they had planned, portrays the feelings of betrayal. I also liked the way Yellow Fang and the frontman of Apartment Khunpa popped in and out of the waiting room, acting as the intuition and dictating the girl’s feelings and actions in the situation. Overall, I feel this was very well done, both musically and visually. I’m surprised it doesn’t have more views than it does.
