If it’s constricting my heart
I’m intrigued by the style of the music video shown in the teaser, though what sort of native culture is she trying to mimic? And I’m not sure what that has to do with the lyrics of shrugging off a bad day. But I really like the choreography, so I’m excited to see the whole thing put together.
So far I’m not impressed by the sound of this single, at least by the teaser, but maybe that’ll change once I hear the whole thing. And I like independent songs as much as the next independent girl, but don’t let it turn you into a one-trick pony, always singing about how you get dumped so you’re just going to make yourself prettier. (Or was that just an homage to her last single?)
Lastly, I wonder if the decision to translate สะบัด to “flick” was intentional to allude to the double meaning of “flick off,” which in English can mean either brushing or pushing something away, or giving the middle finger, which can both be applied to people who piss you off~ 😛
Edit: Yup. I always complain about how Kratae’s songs don’t sound that impressive from the teasers, but by the time the full thing comes out, I’m always hooked. -_- This MV is no different. She found my weakness with all the Latin American stylings in the music video (because there is NO hotter cultural pair than Latin and Thai, if I do say so myself, tee hee). I love all her outfits, and her dancing is always so on point. I swear, I could stare at her butt for ages.
And ohhh, now I see why she’s always singing about “getting skinny;” “Skinny” is the name of the diet drink sponsoring her haha.
