Title: ไม่คู่ควร / Mai Koo Kuan (Unsuitable)
Artist: Klerm ft. Bao We R-Siam (เคลิ้ม ft.
Album: [Single]
Year: 2016

Yahk ja ruk tur bpai hai nahn tao nahn yahk mee tur dern ruam tahng
I want to love you as long as possible, I want to have you going through life with me
Gaut gep tur wai yahng nee
Hugging you like this
Dtae gor roo dtua eng wah rao mai dee mai dee por arai suk yahng mee dtae kwahm wahng bplao
But I realize that I’m not good, not good enough in anything, I have only emptiness

Sen tahng chun mun yoot tee gahn dai mah ruk tur sen tahng kaung tur
My path stops at having gotten to love you, your path
Yung glai gwah nun kum wah ruk mai sahmarot pah tur bpai dai teung dung fun
Is still going, my love can’t lead you to follow your dreams
Yah dai bpen huang dtau tuang kon nee
Don’t worry about this hinderance

Chun mun mai koo kuan tur mai kuan ting hua jai wai tee kon yahng chn
I’m unsuitable, you shouldn’t throw your heart away on a person like me
Bploy meu laeo bpai turt nah chun yin dee tah tur da pob jur kon tee dee gwah
Let go of my hand and go, I’ll be happy if you find someone better
Num dtah tee lai keu num dtah kaung kwahm yin dee
The tears that flow are tears of happiness

Dee kae nai tee nai chuang cheewit neung dai doo lae tur mah kreung tahng dai song tur teung fung
It was nice that I was able to look after you for half the way for a part of my life, and send you to the other side

(*,**)

Meun pun kwahm took tah laekkwahm sook nai cheewit tur
If I could exchange my happiness for the tens of thousands of suffering in your life
Chun praum ja jur peua tur tao nun
I’d be ready to face it, just for you

Bpriap gup pee bpen kae kaun mai dtor hai ruk jao mahk piang nai
Compared with me, I’m just a log, no matter how much I love you
Poo pung bpai peung pah gor dai mai nahn bpriap gup pee bpen kae kaun mai
I’m delapidated and can’t be relied on for too long, compared with me, I’m just a log
Gor loy kor hai piang kahm wun dtae fung fun kor piang hai reua pah jao bpai
You can cling on to me to float for a day, but I just ask for a boat to take you to the banks of your dreams

Bao We and Klerm make an interesting duet in this song. I like how their styles and voices combine. Though personally I’m not a fan of you’re-too-good-for-me songs, it’s a very classic Thai country scenario. As for the music video, I love Youtube’s 1.5 speed playback option haha (Seriously, who has time to sit through 10 minute music videos?). So some guy gave up a good job to help some girl out, they start dating, and she becomes very rich and successful from that job while the guy’s still struggling, and feeling inadequate next to her rich friends, so he breaks up with her. I don’t know, I personally don’t really feel like it’s your place to decide what’s good or not for another person. If she chose you, then she’s happy with you, count yourself lucky instead of lamenting of how much you hate yourself and throwing away a good thing you’ve managed to receive. I guess, given societal pressures and expectations for guys to be the providers, I can understand his frustration and embarrassment, though.
Regardless, this seems to be a very popular release for Klerm, the music video gaining 1.5 million views in just 4 days~
